Great bike, incredible value! March 28, 2010 Patricia Goldsmith (Island Park, NY USA) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
Ordered this bike because I'm so busy at work these days I'm lucky if I get to the gym once a week. This exercise bike guarantees me that I can work out 2 days per week on the weekends and hopefully once or twice per week at the gym gives me my minimum total of 4x week.
Based on the 2 earlier reviews, I ordered this bike. I hate to put things together but they made it sound so easy. It took me an hour (I read, look it over, read some more then gulp then screw something in). Luckily it was a breeze to put it together -- they make it easy by taping all the screws, tools and items on a cardboard. You can't really lose anything unless you work at it. It took me an hour to put it together, my partner had to help a little with the spring.
The bike itself is so sturdy, comfortable and wonderful, I'm in shock. It's like using a bike at my $3,000/year company-paid gym. I'm not kidding. I put in on a rug that fits perfectly in front of a TV in the master bedroom and it rides like a dream. So heavy, so sturdy. What a deal.
The small screen shows you time, speed and distance, no more no less than what I desired. The bikes are much fancier at my gym, but I actually think this is just fine. I work up a sweat by turning the knob further to the right (clockwise) towards the plus sign. Simple and elegant. To clear the screen for the next day, just hold down the on button and you'll start clean tomorrow. Also, the screen turns off by itself which is good -- you won't run down the battery by forgetting to turn it off.
Just had to write and confirm what the others said -- this bike is a steal for the price -- great value.
upright exercise bike February 23, 2010 aladin sane (billings, mt) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
Perfect pedal positioning and quick seat adjustment make this upright exercycle a welcome addition to my personal routine. The resistance adjustment knob is easy to use while pedaling. Light and compact with just enough on the digital display to keep me honest. Not a complicated piece of equipment with a comfortable seat. Easy assembly with all tools supplied with bike.
Love my bike! February 23, 2010 Lisa Cash (Tucson, Az.) 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
This thing was super easy to assemble, took about 25 min to do it. It's pretty quiet and I'm a beefy girl but it doesnt shake or squeak when I get to pedaling! I totaly recomend this bike and I found it way cheaper here than any other website...
Solid bike makes it a great value April 21, 2010 D. Simon (Motown, USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The box arrived with no issues. Puting the bike together took less than 20mins for me, but I'm pretty handy, so it may take others more time. Overall very simple instructions with the only issue being the nuts and washers for the bike seat are already on the bike seat. I used nuts and washers listed in the instructions (they're all numbered) and I ran short at the end. I figured out my mistake and fixed it.
Great bike with average sound levels at high rpms. Solid and comfortable to sit on. I'm 5'6 and my wife is 5'3 and we both found it comfortable to use. When you really get moving it has a tendency to vibrate on wood floors mainly due to the flywheel design. It's compact and easy to move around, yet being sturdy enough for long use. I've done 45min-60min workouts on this without any problems with the equipment. You may need to adjust the belt tension on the flywheel to obtain your "sweet spot" of tension when pedalling. It's very easy to do and straight forward.
You can adjust the tension pretty high by adjusting the belt on the fly wheel. Someone posted it had minimal resistance and this isn't true. There is a knob to fine tune the adjustment but to make large adjustments you have to adjust the front belt.
Also, this bike can accept standard bicycle pedals. This is good for those who want to use shimano SPD clips and shoes. Just put your favorite clip pedals on it and clip in!
Impressed! Sweating... May 18, 2010 Jack Silvestre (California) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Just finished working out on my new Stamina CPS 1305. Great workout. I purchased it on May9. It was delivered May13. It took me less than 60 minutes to assemble the bike in a slow, leisurely pace. I got on it for the first time while watching the Celtics/Magic game. I'm 36 y old, 140lbs, fit. I've been doing P90X for a year. I started with a heart rate of 80. At 5 min, my heart rate was 130. At 10 minutes to 30 minutes, my heart rate was from 140-160... and sweating. I guess the flywheel is still very tight even at minimum settings that I had to stand up to pedal the bike. I've only had this for less than a week but I'm very happy so far. I get a great workout when I get out of bed and I don't have to force myself to go to the gym. The bike itself does not take a lot of space. Make sure you put a mat under it because it tends to creep backwards. Otherwise, it's very stable/sturdy. I'm a chiropractor and I recommend this equipment for people looking for a good cardio workout and who would want to lose weight.
